mantel love.

i'm not sure that dirk and i could ever live in a home without a mantel -- and since we have each collected, thrifted, and inherited some amazing antiques and figurines, we kinda thrive on changing it up and getting creative. of course, this makes us both feel like we're in our eighties, getting giddy over what we will display and recalling the memories each little piece brings -- oh, but we love it!  this season we enjoyed dumping piles of 'snow' over everything...
